The stunning 'Venetian Glass Look' crucifix is the focal point of this rosary. When I saw it available from one of my suppliers, I simply had to have it! It is only 'gold-tone', not real gold, so I considered using gold-plated bead caps. But then I decided that a crucifix this beautiful deserved to be dressed up with more expensive findings. So, to embellish the 8mm transparent yellow glass druks for the Aves, and faceted translucent red India glass for the Paters, I used a real gold-filled round on each transition between a set of Aves and a Pater, and heavy vermeil bead caps on the Paters themselves.

The resulting rosary reminds me of a beautiful stained glass window. I tried several times to photograph it, but I simply could not capture the dazzling play of light that is so stunning when the light catches these beads and crucifix like a ray of sun streaming through the colored glass of a Gothic cathedral window. Gothic architecture was designed to make worship seem like a part of heaven, and in keeping with that design, as sunlight flows through a Gothic stained glass window, it makes worship seem even more heavenly. A similar heavenly ambiance could be acheived by praying in your sunlit garden with this rosary.
