In the Old Testament, David is often symbolic of Christ. Jesus' throne "will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky." The sky is represented by the blue beads of the Paternoster. The cross is a symbol of Christ's throne, and I have chosen to use a cross at either end of this Paternoster to convey two aspects of our understanding of His rule. A frosted white cross represents the New Testament revelation of Christ, shining forth like a full moon in the darkness of the world. The other cross, a sky blue millefiore, blends in with the colors of the beads, to symbolize the veiled presence of Christ in the Old Testament scripture.
