Policies

Shipping Policies

• We normally ship via Domestic Priority Mail for shipments within the US, or International Priority Mail for shipments to other countries.
• You will be charged actual postage cost plus a modest $1 handling charge. For Domestic Priority Mail shipments under one pound, your S&H total is $4.60 postage plus $1 handling, for a total of $5.60.
• We usually ship within 3 days of receiving your order. If the shipment will be delayed, we will let you know via e-mail.
• On Priority Mail shipments, you should receive an e-mail from the USPS the evening that your package ships. If you do not receive their e-mail, we are not responsible, as their system is out of our control. We also enter the tracking information in PayPal's system, so you should be able to track your package from there.
• If you need expedited shipping, at this time we only offer Express Mail, which is guaranteed by the USPS to take 1-2 days. An additional handling charge will be added to cover our time and gas for this extra service. Note that we cannot guarantee on-time delivery by the shipping company, as we have no control once the package has left our hands. If your package does not arrive on time, we will work with you to get you a refund from the USPS.
• For any shipping method other than Domestic Priority Mail, you must use the Catalog shopping cart. Our Traditional store's shopping cart is not capable of setting up and charging for International or Express Mail.

• At this time, we accept PayPal and Google Checkout. You can use these services to make a credit card payment or pay with an e-check. All fees are incurred at my end, so it does not cost you anything to pay via one of these organizations.
• PayPal is available through either the Traditional store or through the Catalog store. Unfortunately, Google Checkout is only available through the Catalog store. Since our Traditional store's shopping cart is operated by PayPal, it cannot accept Google Checkout.
• Please do not ask us to accept other forms of payment. We do not accept checks or money orders, nor do we have a gateway for accepting credit cards over the phone. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

• We are always willing to work with you on custom orders of Catholic or Orthodox prayer beads. Email us at service@chotkis.com and let us know what you are looking for. We will respond and give you a price quote.
• Due to the fact that we must special order the beads or components, we do require up front payment in full.
• Please allow 4-8 weeks for your custom order. Remember, we must find a supplier of the materials, place the order, wait for them to be shipped to us, make your prayer beads, and ship them out to you. Depending on the availability of the materials you have chosen and time it takes for the style you want, it could take 8 weeks for this entire process.
• We reserve the right to refuse to make a given set of prayer beads. If it contradicts our religious beliefs (such as prayer beads for a non-Christian religion) we will not agree to make it.
• If you see prayer beads on our site that you would like to have in jewelry form, please contact us to custom order it as a jewelry item. With the exception of the wrist chotki and the rosary bracelet, our prayer beads are not designed for use as jewelry, and may not work for what you intend (such as not fitting over your head as a necklace). Please email us to let us know your intentions. (For example, "I'd like to have a necklace similar to the Publican chotki. Can you do something like that?") We will work with you to design a piece suited for your use as jewelry.

Returns & Refunds

• Your new prayer beads arrive with a 30 day warranty against normal wear and tear. If something should happen, such as the cross falling off with normal use, you may send them back for repair at no charge. Extreme or abnormal situations are not covered. If your dog ate the cross, you dropped your prayer beads on the ground while getting in your car and ran over them, your child put them in the garbage disposal to see what would happen... such circumstances are covered under our Rosary Repair policy - you may return them to us for repair, but you will be charged for any additional materials needed to restore them to their original condition.
• We will make absolutely no refunds for "buyer remorse". (For example, purchasing a 33-bead chotki with the intention of wearing it as a necklace, and subsequently discovering it does not fit over the head. Our prayer beads are designed for the purpose of prayer, not jewelry.) On our artisan pieces, you get the exact item pictured so there are no surprises and therefore no reason for a return. On our "standard" pieces, the photo is representative of what you will receive, and any differences will be very minor (e.g., seed beads might be slightly lighter or darker, because I might run out of them and purchase more from a different vendor).

Rosary Repairs

• If you have a rosary or other prayer rope that needs repair, you can send it in for our repair service. Mail the broken rosary to our address on our home page, and we will make minor repairs (no missing components) for free.
• If we must replace lost beads, center or crucifix, we will only charge you what it cost us for materials and shipping. We will try to find matching beads if any are missing.
• Make sure to include a postage-paid padded envelope for returning the rosary to you, or payment for $4.35 to cover the cost of priority mail (US) and packing materials. (Or, at your request we can repair your broken rosaries and send overseas to missions, at no charge to you whatsoever.) Please do include your email address as well, so we can contact you with questions or repair options.
• Note that our repair service is for beaded pieces only. We cannot repair knotted chotkis or rosaries at this time.
